Far Cry 6

Started January 2020 as a Level Designer for Far Cry 6. The role requires ownership over gameplay locations, as well as any ingredients or scripts which are necessary to facilitate the Fort capture gameplay loop and Enemy AI.

As an Level Designer I owned the Southern Fort Santa Maria, Espinosa University, and Dulce Sugar Mill, as well as several other smaller checkpoint and campsites.

Fort Santa Maria

Fort Santa Maria was an early game outpost which provided incursion points from both the land and the sea.

The goal was to establish a base of operation for the military to seize goods from potential smugglers traveling to through the nearby bay.

The outpost was designed to give players a large amount of choice in approaches to take the base, a good scout location on the lighthouse, and several challenges from both the land, sea, and sky if things went the wrong way.

Dulce Sugar Mill
       
     
Dulce Sugar Mill

Dulce Sugar Mill is a mid level outpost which was primarily designed to make use of the Guerilla paths located within the area to provide points of infiltration for the player.

This area featured several objectives located inside the main building to push the player towards a difficult encounter, a large amount of ground vehicle reinforcements to provide a challenge if the player is detected, and unique traversal opportunities for the player to get the jump on the military personnel.

This area also worked in close with the activities team, maintaining a horse race route which passed through the base.

Espinosa University
       
     
Espinosa University

Espinosa University was the level with the most work for me to complete. It was set up with objectives situated at the top of the structure and my job was to provide a challenge for the player to climb to the upper position.

Inspired by media like the Riot and Judge Dredd, the difficulty for the player would increase the further up they traveled and the player would be afford the most power and options if they controlled the roof top of the building.

Framed as a medical college this position made heavy use of the poison containers unique to this game. Players could utilize them to their own advantage against powerful enemies while also navigating any potential risk they could cause.

Militia Checkpoints
       
     
Militia Checkpoints

The Militia Checkpoints offered small challenges for players to encounter while navigating the world. They would contain a handful of soldiers to dispatch, small rewards, and a small wave of reinforcements which would be encountered if players were discovered while infiltrating these small areas.

Often located along important places on the highways they were to provide occasionally challenges and push players towards gorilla paths.
